Ruaha NP proved to more than live up to its reputation of having a high density of leopard, as on one game drive alone our guide found four of these illusive cats. It is a joy to be able to see a leopard in the wild and this individual was resting on one of a favourite horizonal branches of a Sausage tree, which make ideal spots to lie across with their ample branches. Leopards have impressive markings, therefore seeing this magnificent cat without any obstructions, I wanted to attempt to capture its rosetted coat and show the intensity of the colour in strong light.
