I wanted to attempt to capture the intense stare of the leopard as he goes into hunting mode.
Our guide spotted a large male leopard resting out in the open on a sand bank, giving himself a grooming session close to the Luangwa river. He was exceptionally relaxed and was not disturbed by our presence, but in a matter of seconds his demeanour changed, as his attention was gripped by a group of Impala coming into view. His eyes locked on to his potential prey, before he silently stalked forward to gain cover to make his attack. South Luangwa NP, Zambia.
