Amour ~ Ruaha Leopard
The guide's outstanding knowledge of the area proved crucial to find this young female leopard. He had watched her being reared by her mother and now it had reached that time where she had to fend for herself. The youngster was still crossing into her mother's territory so they would be very much aware of each other, but she would have to survive on her own until she was mature enough to find a mate and then a rear a cub of her own. Leopards have favourite trees that they use as lookouts, out of reach stashes from hyena and other predators and places to quietly rest and sleep, so it is always worth while for the guides to check out these trees.
Leopard are stunning creatures with their rosette markings and captivating eyes, that I am always inspired to try to capture some of their beauty and magnificence. Ruaha National Park in Tanzania
