Carol
Barrett is a graduate of the school of drawing and painting at Edinburgh
College of Art. She lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Carol
regularly travels to Africa (Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia,
Tanzania and Kenya) to study, sketch and photograph wildlife in
its natural habitat.
Carol will be showing wildlife paintings in May and December
2008 in the Di Rollo Gallery, 18a Dundas Street, Edinburgh.
Carol will
be exhibiting in June 2008 in an exhibition in aid of St Columba’s Hospice in the Freemasons’ Hall,
George Street, Edinburgh.
Her
work has been shown in many mixed exhibitions and she has been artist
in residence at Edinburgh Zoo.
Carol
has completed over 550 commissioned works in a variety of media;
some are in private collections in Africa, Australia, Europe
and
the USA.
A
committed conservationist,
Carol has contributed to, and supported, a number of wildlife projects
in Africa and the UK.
